Order Management |
Streamlined ordering is a reality |
| The
process of resident/patient care revolves around the order.
A complete, appropriate, legible order is critical to
both resident safety and a smooth care process. Until
today the order management process has been labor intensive
and subject to potential human error. Vicura's computerized
order entry has been designed to address the unique needs
of long-term care. |
| |
| Multi-disciplinary orders |
|
Vicura has been designed to accommodate the entry, maintenance
and documentation of all of your physician's orders. Order
types by service area include: |
- Medications
- Tasks
- Treatments
- Occupational
Therapy
- Physical
Therapy
- Dietary
- Radiology
...
and many more. |
| |
Common orders and order sets |
| Save
time with facility-defined common orders and order sets.
Instead of requiring your clinical staff to create each
order from scratch, Vicura allows them to choose from
a wide range of existing common or standard orders and
order sets that you have selected from our library or
created yourself during implementation. By incorporating
related tasks or activities into an order set, you can
standardize your policies and procedures within a facility
and across your enterprise. |
- Automatically
manages formulary compliance
- Eliminates
transcription errors
- Notifies
the user of potential duplicate orders and drug/allergy
interactions
- Automatically
notifies the pharmacy of new and discontinued orders

eMAR/eTAR |
Intelligent, integrated eMAR/eTAR |
Vicura
provides facility staff with clear direction on when
and how activities need to be accomplished, and a simple
and rapid means of appropriately documenting care provided.
The
workflow of the long-tern care clinical staff is typically
directed by volumes of paper medication and treatment
administration records. This current paper environment
is both error-prone and time-consuming. Vicura eliminates
the volumes of paper, multicolored markers and sometimes
illegible handwriting, replacing them with a completely
legible, simple, integrated electronic MAR/TAR. It organizes
the activities of the staff, providing clear direction
on when and how activities need to be accomplished and
a simple and rapid means of appropriately documenting
them. |
- Provides
a single, integrated electronic MAR/TAR
- Displays
and manages associated activities
- Ensures
the "five rights" of medication administration
through bar code technology
- Provides
immediate notification of early and late doses and
tasks
- Ensures
accurate, complete and timely documentation of administration
and related tasks
- Eliminates
time consuming MAR changeovers
|
Intelligent inventory management |
| Tracking
and managing drug inventory is both difficult and time
consuming. As an integrated component of Vicura, inventory
management has never been easier or more accurate. Drug
inventory is simply scanned with a bar code scanner as
it is received and its location noted. As the resident
or cart-based drugs are used, Vicura keeps track. When
the days supply or number of units falls to a level that
the facility has defined, Vicura will automatically propose
a re-order from your pharmacy. If the facility or clinician
needs to re-order sooner, it's as simple as a mouse click. |
- Automated
medication re-ordering
- Clearly
indicated drug location and inventory status
- Manages
and documents inventory transfers within the facility
- Provides
direct order integration over secure web access to
your Omnicare pharmacy
|
|
| Pharmacy integration |
Working together with your Omnicare pharmacy
|
|
Accurate and efficient communication between your facility
and your Omnicare pharmacy is critical to the operational
success of both organizations. Until now this has been
accomplished with faxes and phone calls. Vicura will give
you a comprehensive, electronic communication interface
between your facility and your Omnicare pharmacy. |
| |
Say goodbye to faxing medication orders, changes, renewals or discontinues to your pharmacy |
| As
new orders, changes, renewals or discontinues are entered
into Vicura, they are immediately and securely transmitted
to your Omnicare pharmacy's information system. The orders
are checked for contraindications and reviewed clinically
by one of our professional, licensed pharmacists before
being filled. You and your residents will have the same
peace of mind you have today, but with far less paperwork
and far fewer faxes and phone calls. |
| |
| Say goodbye to the hassles of tracking and re-ordering drug inventory |
| In
conjunction with its user friendly ordering and medication
administration modules, Vicura's inventory module can
track inventory by resident and location (ebox). You simply
set minimum inventory levels by days-supply or doses and
Vicura will automatically propose a re-order from your
pharmacy when it's time. Your pharmacy can even let you
know the progress of your order directly through Vicura
(Received, Being Filled, Shipped). Tracking and
maintaining your drug inventory will be easier than ever
before. |
| |
| Say hello to even better pharmacy consultant services |
| Through
Vicura your Omnicare consultant pharmacist will have an
unprecedented means of securely reviewing the medication
management of your residents. By providing an integrated,
real-time view of the medication order, administration
and related clinical data (pain scale, INR, vital signs,
blood glucose results, etc.), your consultant pharmacist
will be able to provide you with more valuable guidance
more quickly than ever before. |
